Oreo Cheescake

Oreo Cheesecake
Tried out the Oreo Cheesecake recipe given by a friend (thanks to D&P).  Last indulgence of the day.  Aduie to the break time.

Oreo Cheesecake

Ingredients (serves 8)

  • 2x 150g packets of Oreo cookies
  • 50g butter
  • 3 tsp gelatine (used almost 30g, but found it a bit too thick, probably just needs 15g)
  • ¼ cup of cold water
  • 250g cream cheese
  • 395g can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 300ml thickened cream.
Method:
  1. Blitz 18 Oreos (200g approx) until fine. Mix in the melted butter. Grease spring form pan. Press in the crumb mix into the base of the pan. Refrigerate until you've done the cheese mix.
  2. Sprinkle 3 tsp of gelatine over ¼ of cup of cold water. Microwave until the grainy bits have dissolved. About 15-20 seconds.
  3. Beat cream cheese and condensed milk in an electric mixer until smooth. Then add the dissolved gelatine slowly.
  4. Whip the cream separately and fold into the cheese mixture.
  5. Pour the entire mixture onto the crumb base.
  6. Cut the remaining Oreos roughly and sprinkle onto the soft cheesecake mixture, pressing down a bit.
  7. Refrigerate overnight or until the whole thing is set.
