Brisbane: Kurilpa String Quartet-A night of Bartók (布里斯本新弦樂四重奏團-Kurilpa)

Programme for Kurilpa's first concert
Great news for Brisbane music lover!

It is an exciting news for Brisbane to welcome this new String Quartet--Kurilpa.  They gave the first concert on 16 September 2011 evening at Queensland Conservatorium's Ian Hanger Recital Hall.  A concert of the earliest two Bartók's string quartets (out of the total six) .  The members form this string quartet are simply amazing, spot-on techniques with divine musicality.

The violinist Graeme Jennings said that Kurilpa plans to perform the rest fours quartets by Bartók in the following years.  'What happens when you run out of the six?'  When I asked him this after the concert the reply is 'Oh, I guess we will have to do some Ligeti then' (make Ligeti's pieces sound like...a piece of cake, which is soooooooooo not true!).  BUT exciting to hear.

Thanks for the great concert and the live Bartók.
