Lunch at San-Kai South Bank, Brisbane (布里斯本南岸公園--山海日式午餐)

San-Kai Japanese restaurant has opened for over just a month or two.  When it first started the waiting period during the lunch rush was too long to bear.  It was not caused by the amount of people waiting, but the slow service at the counter.

As time goes by, it has improved.  Or should I say, by the time I could escape out for lunch, it's way past the peak time, hence I found the service has ameliorated since.

The sushi rolls are around $2.5 each.  More expensive than any of the sushi rolls you can get in city.  Nevertheless, comparing with the other offers around south bank, it's actually not the worst price.  Most importantly, it's fast.  You get your order within 3 minutes--if the roll you ordered is available.
They also have an 'express lunch' menu: a bowl of rice or noddle with topping.  Similar to other Japanese places, the options includes curry, stir-fry meat slices, egg onion boiled sauce etc.  These are around $7 dollars.  Waiting time not guaranteed though.

However the lunch special sets offer better value than any of the above options.  Waiting time is around 10 minutes.  The set includes a bowl of rice, salad, miso soup and a main.  Below is the sashimi set I had.  The staff kindly adjusted my order with less rice but more salad.  A nice reward for a hard day at work.
